War Child beat targets with emergency appeal for Syria

We’re very proud to be helping War Child with their emergency appeal for the children of Syria. War Child is one of the only NGO’s to be working in the region, and are setting up safe spaces to help protect children from the trauma of conflict.

There are many news reports from the region of children being murdered, being detained and tortured, or being used as human shields – being forced to sit on tanks, for instance.  War Child is giving children the support they need to overcome trauma and help them hold on to the childhood they deserve.

The Good Agency has worked with War Child to generate the strategy, propositions and creative for its first integrated appeal and its first foray into mass individual giving. This includes a text to donate appeal where we ask people to text to donate £3 to help protect Syrian children.

The Good Agency are delighted to report more than 800 responses have been received from their press and online ads while radio ads alone have generated over 180 responses. Upon contacting these donors they achieved a 6.4% conversion rate to regular giving.

Having beaten their targets at this level it is no surprise that War Child was shortlisted for Fundraising Team of the Year at this year’s Institute of Fundraising National Awards.
