A good morning

This morning, Shaun, the porter of a local block of flats, was sitting outside enjoying the sunshine.
‘Morning Jeremy’, he announced in his gentle Irish lilt, ‘lovely day again.’
‘Indian Summer.’ I replied.
Then he added, ‘It will shorten the winter.’
I loved that, ‘shortens the winter’, what an innovative way of thinking about a long summer.
How inspiring it is to see something from a fresh perspective.
