Since its launch at the end of October, over 5,000 rabbit lovers have completed the RSPCA’s Great Big Rabbit Survey helping make it the RSPCA’s biggest ever survey on pet rabbit ownership.
The Great Big Rabbit Survey has been developed by the RSPCA and The Good Agency to help address concerns that the needs of rabbits are often poorly understood, negatively impacting on rabbit welfare. Since the beginning of 2007, over 33,000 rabbits have come into RSPCA care: something the charity hopes to change by increasing awareness and understanding of rabbits’ welfare needs.
Whether you’re a child or adult rabbit owner, the survey gives you the chance to rave about your rabbit and show your support for the charity’s campaign to improve pet rabbit welfare.
RSPCA campaign manager Eloise Shavelar says: “We’re only four weeks in and the fantastic response shows that the public is eager to help the RSPCA improve rabbit welfare. I’d encourage any rabbit lovers out there to complete the survey – this is your chance to really rave about your rabbit, which will enable us to help bunnies across the country to be happier and healthier!”
In addition to the findings, the RSPCA will also be using new scientific studies about how rabbits are kept in the UK to develop relevant and up-to-date advice on rabbit care. The charity hopes this will raise awareness and increase understanding of what rabbits need to be happy and healthy.
If you haven’t already, take part in the survey before 31st December.
